Vårdcentralen Tornet is a stable, well-functioning, and expanding unit with nearly 8,000 registered patients and slightly over 800 registered children at the affiliated family center Tellus (Child Health Care).

We employ approximately 35 dedicated staff members across various professional categories working in interdisciplinary teams to provide the best possible care to our patients. The team consists of 5 permanent specialist physicians, district nurses, nurses with specialist competence, assistant nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, counselors, and secretaries. We offer child health care (BVC), physician clinics, district nurse clinics, specialist nurse clinics for allergy-asthma-COPD, diabetes, infections, lifestyle habits, vaccinations, memory clinics, and elderly care clinics, as well as clinics for occupational therapists, counselors, and physiotherapists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

With us, you will work with varied and stimulating tasks.

As an assistant nurse with us, you will be part of one of our two interdisciplinary teams, working closely with other healthcare professionals. You will work in blocks, partly as an acute assistant nurse alongside physicians and nurses who also handle acute cases. In the role of an assistant nurse, you will perform tasks such as sample collection, ECG, glucose tolerance tests, hearing tests, blood pressure monitoring, and minor wound dressing, as well as assisting with various examinations such as gynecological, proctological, and rectoscopic exams. In addition to these tasks, you will also schedule patients for specialist clinics and conduct preparatory examinations, and may have your own clinic hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a qualified assistant nurse who meets the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for a protected professional title, regardless of whether you studied under the previous or current curriculum. Good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required for this position. Previous experience as an assistant nurse at a health center is an asset.

You have a genuine interest in people, provide respectful treatment, and always put the patient first. It is important that you have the ability to build trust with both patients and their relatives while being clear in your communication. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in teams across professional boundaries, while also being capable of working independently and feeling secure in your professional role. This means you will need proof from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title "assistant nurse" within healthcare and social services. If you currently have a permanent position as an assistant nurse and are offered a new position, you may retain the title "assistant nurse" until June 30, 2033. In the event of an interview or employment, you must be able to show proof of the protected professional title from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate stating you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you currently do not have a professional certificate from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare or are not covered by the transitional provisions, the title in your employment contract will be "care assistant" rather than "assistant nurse."
